Radio Flare Review

By Ricky Gallo

Side-scrolling shooter fans rejoice! A new game of your genre has made its way to the App Store – Radio Flare. Does it rank among the (in my opinion) enjoyable titles Space Deadbeef and Platypus? Or does it fall into that category of overpriced poorly crafted games that some of us know all to well? Read on.

New/old GTA contender coming
to iPhone (updated with video)

Apex Designs are bringing their GTA style game ‘Payback’ to iPhone. Originally released in the US for the Gameboy Advance back in 2005. The game was well known for pushing the GBA graphically to it’s limits. Apart from the obvious graphical upgrades, not much is known yet on how the iPhone version of game differs from the GBA version, but it looks likely that it will be a port of the currently available GP2X version. With Car Jack Streets also on it’s way from TAG, 2009 looks like a good year for some serious criminal action on the iPhone. Read on for screens and video (GP2X version). [Read more →]

Dusktreaders MMO/FPS?

dusktreadersGranite games have released the mobile edition of Dusktreaders a tilt controlled FPS. On their website they mention an MMO, but we’re not sure if it’s a separate game to this.

“From the world of the Dusktreaders MMO, explore the fast paced city of New Hexborough armed with silver bullets and a sword where zombies, skeletons, and werewolves lurk around every corner. “

Silent Hill: The Escape
Video + Hands on

By Nigel Wood

silenthill1Konami today released Silent Hill: The escape today (EU only so far!). At it’s core Silent Hill is a tarted up dungeon crawler. Find the key then find the exit, that’s pretty much it. Controls in the game are disappointing. You can tilt the iPhone to control your flash light and gun aiming which is pretty cool, but movement is done by swiping up and down to go forward and back, and swipe left or right to turn. Hero of Sparta Review

Review by Ricky Gallo (Competition winner)

sparta-logoAllow me to begin by saying that there has certainly been a lot of hype surrounding Gameloft lately. There have been Brothers in Arms, Ferrari GT, Asphalt 4, and countless other hit titles in only a few months. So far, it would not be ridiculous to say that all of there titles are gems, and although sometimes a little pricey (by App Store standards) can provide a gamer with hours of enjoyment. However, is Gameloft’s newest title over-hyped? Is there truth to some of its early, stellar reviews? Is it worth the 80-something megabytes? Read on to find out. [Read more →]

With the recent reveal of MGS for iPhone, Konami have released images of another big name from their game studios, Silent Hill: The Escape. Very few details have emerged, but from the screens below it looks like more of a ‘House of the dead’ approach than your typical Silent Hill game.
