First Look: Marble Blast Mobile thumbnail

Marble Blast is coming to the iPhone, and it looks goooood.

I just finished a couple rounds of the new iPhone version of Marble Blast from Garage Games, and I am impressed to say the least. This game is practically identical to the console and PC versions of the game, and I dare say it controls better than those versions. It’s a combination of tilting to move, and tapping the screen to adjust the camera or jump, and it feels very natural.The 3D engine is also impressive, with some nice bump mapping and reflection effects.

At it’s current state, Marble Blast features local WiFi multiplayer (the same modes as the XBL Arcade version) that tentatively will support from 6 - 12 players at once, as well as 20 single player levels. It also includes some of the fun features of the original game like the ability to choose between different marble designs.

The game is slated to be submitted to the App store in about a month, so expect a full review when it’s out!

    I have the XBLA version and it was pretty fun so its nice to see its coming to iphone now. Hope its good 20 levels seems a bit low though, least there is multiplayer.

    I’ve been checking the App store for anything named “Marble Blast” every day since this page was created.

    Will the be a special introductory price? I think that it would be very nice. Because when I buy it the same hour it comes out, I don’t want the price to go DOWN a few weeks after I buy it. :(

    As soon as we hear something, we’ll make a new post to let you guys know. Generally when there is introductory pricing, it’s stated on the product page in the iTunes store. Although for a game like this, they could easily get away with a full price launch.

    Well, today is the last day of April, and it was supposed to be launched in April sometime. So they better do it today! lol jk

    For people without too much money, like us, introductory pricing would be good. And It would show appreciation to the loyal Marble Blast players everywhere.

    I just want some notification on exactly WHEN it’ll be submitted for review.

    Hmmm its almost mid way through May and i haven’t heard anything on the games progress or release. Can anyone provide some information on Marble Blast Mobile?

    Um… What’s the deal with the download? It says that the item is being modified and that I can’t buy it yet. Can someone elaborate on this?

    The game was released early this morning. Not sure if perhaps it was a US only release (dunno where you are from)? Either way it will be fully up soon if there are issues now. I was able to download my review copy last night using a code, so I know it WAS online at least. Expect a review hopefully tomorrow or Sunday!

    Ah. It was being changed to the 5.00 price instead of the 10.00. But, now I have it, and it is AWESOME! The graphics are way better than anything I’ve yet to see on an iPhone/iPod Touch.
