Apex Designs have contacted us with news that Payback will be pulled from the Appstore until an update is available. On release late yesterday, they started received bug reports of a major glitch in one of the first missions of the game. According to Apex, the bug only appeared on AppStore versions and not on their developer build. James Daniels, from Apex said “As you can imagine, this is an incredibly frustrating situation - it’s a bug we had no visibility of until the game was released. After careful consideration, we have decided to temporarily withdraw the game from sale until an update is ready. No one is more upset about this than we are and we humbly apologise for the delay.”
Because of this, we will hold off on our review until the update is available. It’s a shame too, because –bugs a side – it’s a solid effort in the GTA genre.

I had a couple days off and was looking forward to playing it. I prefer a delay though over releasing an app with major bugs, say like Puzzlequest.

The bug is pretty major and you can’t complete that mission or continue the story mode really. There are other modes (challenge and Rampage) which i’ve been able to play though. This game will rock when they fix the bugs.
