Characters
Gabby is the main character of this preschool show, which features a lot of cute music and an appealing mix of live action and animation. The show is created by Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey, the co-creators of the popular Blue’s Clues.
The premise of the show revolves around an imaginative girl who transforms into her dollhouse and hangs out with her kitty friends there. They explore the dollhouse in a variety of ways, such as cooking, gardening and crafting.
Each episode focuses on one of the characters and their adventures in the dollhouse. Usually, the episodes are mildly educational, as the Gabby Cats dabble in cooking arts, gardening and science in very simplistic ways.
The lovable, animated dollhouse cats are very fun to watch, and they often get into mischief. For example, Pandy Paws has a tendency to reveal himself from his hiding spot in the dollhouse with a “hug attack” that Gabby usually reverses. Another dollhouse character, CatRat, has a sour personality that sometimes gets the better of him. But his friends do their best to help him turn his bad behavior into a positive one.
